Weld-Action has been helping industrial customers in automating their welding processes since 1963. That’s more than 50 years of experience in designing and installing effective, high-quality welding assets for multiple applications and industries. Whether you are updating your manual welding processes to auto, or designing a new process from scratch, Weld-Action will help you design the perfect solution for your process from start to finish.

Automating a manual welding process can help a company reap huge benefits in throughput and labor savings, consistency of quality, and reliability. Our goal is to help you realize these benefits through fully automatic or semi-auto turnkey ARC resistance welding systems, including robotic welding cells. We offer a wide range of capabilities, including:

  • Custom design-and-build robotic welding systems
  • Fixturing design and build
  • Pre-engineered robotic welding cells
  • Material handling solutions
  • Pneumatic, indexing, servo turntables, and positioners
  • Custom resistance brazing machines and supplies
  • Safety equipment and monitoring systems
  • High-performance MIG welding power supplies
  • Parts and consumable supplies
  • Installation, training and service

Planning Process

We analyze your specific weld application and recommend the best equipment and supplies based on part, scope, and production requirement. Our design team works with you to select the optimal welding process for your needs, including Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Plasma arc, and spot welding. We also analyze any existing processes to make certain that your new welding asset will not interfere with your current infrastructure.

Build Process

Following customer approval, we ship the components to our shop where we build and assemble your asset. Using your own work pieces, we will optimize your new welding asset and make all necessary adjustments to ensure it meets the exact specifications of your desired process, while calibrating the operating system for maximum output and minimum cycle time.

We also help put in place an operational structure that controls all peripheral equipment in the welding process.

Installation

Prior to shipping, we welcome your operators and engineers to our shop to make sure everything works properly. We also train your staff on how to use your new welding asset in three segments:

  1. Basic operations class on robot manufacturing
  2. Electrical interface and programming structure
  3. Review and Q&A, as well as general welding cell maintenance

After training, you can watch your welding asset in action during a run-off process on our shop floor before we break it down, pack it up, and ship it to your facility. Prior to final installation, our team does a worksite review to account for floor space/conditions, power requirements, and to ensure any necessary cooling utilities are in place.

Once your welding asset arrives, our team will show you how to assemble it, then do one final run-off to optimize the process before answering any final questions. We aren’t satisfied until your new robotic welding cell meets every expectation you had when you made the decision to purchase.

Training & Support

We get you up to speed as quickly as possible on all of the things that make your new robotic welding cell user-friendly, and to help eliminate any apprehension you may feel. Even after we’ve left, our support team is a phone call away from answering any lingering questions you may have.

Service and training includes:

  • Preventive maintenance programs
  • Machine optimization
  • Troubleshoot and repair
  • Programming training and retraining

Simply put, we do not distribute ‘robots in a box’. We are integrators who believe that how we sell something is just as important as what we sell. And we are committed to ensuring our customers always get the right piece of equipment for the job.
